Tofu Steak

Recipe Tofu Steak


First:

Wrap soft tofu block in paper towel and place something heavy on top, leave for 10 mins. to squeeze out excess water.

Cut off stem of kujo scallion and cut diagonally into 1cm(0.4 inch) pieces.

Cut stem off water dropwort and cut into 3 cm(1.2 inch) long pieces.

Slice onions.

Mix potato starch and dashi.


Second:
Cut tofu into half and coat lightly with flour. Heat oil in frying pan and fry tofu. When browned remove and place on dish.

Heat remaining oil in frying pan over medium heat and stir fry meat. Add sugar, seven spice chili mix, soy sauce and mix. Remove.

Combine onions, scallions and water dropwort. Pour in remaining seasoning and stir fry until soft.

Return meat into pan and pour dashi broth and potato starch over. When thickened pour over tofu. Sprinkle seven spice chili mix if desired.
