Plum Rice Onigiri Rice Balls

Recipe Plum Rice Onigiri  Rice Balls


First:

Wash rice and drain in strainer at least 30 mins. before cooking.


Second:
Put washed rice and water to desired level into bowl of rice cooker. Place a pickled plum on top and turn on rice cooker.

When rice is cooked leave for 10 mins. Remove pickled plum and toss rice gently.

Turn rice paddle around bowl of rice cooker to make space between rice and bowl. Place rice paddle under rice and gently lift rice and toss well to remove excess moisture and make rice glossy.


Step 2

Wet hands with water, scoop rice with hands and roll into onigiri rice ball. Coat with nori seaweed or sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Squeeze and crush sesame seeds with fingers before sprinkling. This makes it aromatic!
